Er tað so ikki í lagið at tatovera fólk undir 18/hendur/nakkan/o.s.fr.?”
The usual thing we hear from some of our customers is: “Yeah, but it says that this law does not apply to the Faroe Islands. Isn’t it alright to tattoo people under 18/hands/necks, etc. then?”
Yes, it does state in §3 2): “This law does not apply to the Faroe Islands and Greenland, but can by Royal decree be put into effect for these regions with the deviations that the special Faroese and Greenlandic conditions dictate.”
But, as you can see, it states below in the 2) comment: “Entered into effect for the Faroe Islands by Royal Decree No. 351 of the 15th of august 1967 without changes.”
A change was also made to §1 with løgtingslaw nr. 168 from 16. december 2021. This change hardened the punishment from “punishable by fine or mitigated imprisonment, unless a harder sentense is deemed necessary in accordance with other legislation.” to “punishable by fine or up to 4 months imprisonment, unless a harder sentense is deemed necessary in accordance with other legislation.”
We follow the rules and regulations for our industry.
